Miss Colorado Eligibility Requirements

  • Must never have competed in any National Finals of the Miss America Organization

  • Must be at least nineteen (19) years of age as of December 31st in the calendar year of the State Competition in which she competes

  • Must not be older than twenty-six (26) years of age as of the last day of the calendar year of the State Competition in which she competes   

    • For the avoidance of doubt, candidate CANNOT turn twenty-seven (27) years of age at any time during the calendar year in which she will compete at the State Competition.  For 2022 competition, age as of December 31, 2022 MUST be between the ages of 19-26 years old. 

    • FOR THE 2022 COMPETITION SEASON ONLY: Since age eligibility was revised after the start of the 2022 state & local competition season, Candidates who are: 1) eighteen (18) years of age on or after July 31, 2022 (the year of the State Competition) are eligible to compete in the Miss program, as long as the candidate is also a 2) high school graduate or equivalent by July 31, 2022

    • If you will be eighteen (18) years of age at any time during 2022, please contact us to verify whether you will be competing in MCOTeen or Miss Colorado Competition

  • Must either: (1) reside in; (2) be enrolled in and physically be attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited college or university in; or (3) be employed on a full-time basis in the State in which she intends to represent in the National Finals

  • Must be a resident of Colorado for at least thirty (30) days prior to the State Competition and MUST CONTINUE TO BE A RESIDENT.

  • Must be a citizen of the United States of America

  • Must never have been married or had a marriage annulled

  • Must never have been pregnant

  • Must not be the parent or adoptive parent of any child

  • Must never have been convicted of a criminal offense, nor have any criminal charges pending

  • Must be of good moral character and not have been involved in any act of moral turpitude

  • Must be in good health and be able to participate fully and without limitation in all program activities

  • Must not use or consume any illegal controlled dangerous substances or abuse the use of alcohol or other dangerous substances
